Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financing access barriers faced by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Grobogan Regency and their impact on business sustainability. The main challenges examined include limited understanding of loan procedures, low financial literacy, collateral requirements, and lack of trust in formal financial institutions. The research employed a case study design with a descriptive qualitative approach, complemented by quantitative data collected through Likert-scale questionnaires. Data were obtained from surveys, interviews, FGDs, field observations, and secondary sources from government agencies and financial institutions. The results reveal that most MSMEs still rely on personal savings, with 53% of respondents not understanding loan procedures and 68% never attending financial training. Pearson correlation tests indicate no significant relationship between financial literacy and access to finance. SWOT analysis highlights the need for community-based financing models, enhanced literacy programs, and simplified banking procedures. In conclusion, improving financial literacy alone is insufficient; policy synergy, extensive outreach, and institutional support are essential to ensure inclusive and sustainable financing for MSMEs.
